where the rains fall…

almost gone but not forgotten the monsoon dances its last dance as the rain, once again begins to fall for so long, i have wanted to come to India during the rains to feel its weight on my skin and listen to its talk on the streets we are in the market where my dad’s family lives where the streets bend here and there where we have been coming ever since

the agent asked for my passport and my visa that was the first sign then, the sound of their voices speaking in english, dutch, french and hindi that was the second of crossing borders and international travelof leaving home and coming back to anotherit has been almost two days but we have now landedmy sister and i “the smell,” she said “of mumbai”it takes us backso familiar and always the same
