I am always in awe of how time so often feels like it is moving so slowly but when looking back it has moved so fast. It is hard to believe that 8 months has passed since I last wrote. For me, it has been a time of reflection, transition and completion. After nearly two years, my first Artist Book is finally printed and bound. 366, a visual and written retrospective on 2020, is a collection of the 366 drawings and journal entries I wrote and drew every day beginning on January 1, 2020. When I began, I did not know what 2020 would turn out to be or that my very personal daily art practice would eventually become a Solo Exhibition that would lead to the creation of an Artist Book. I also did not know that senior writer, Molly Snyder, would write about my book and capture it so beautifully in her story for OnMilwaukee.com. As this year comes to a close, I look back in gratitude for the friendship, community, solitude and time it took to complete this work. I am especially thankful to Molly for taking such care with my story. You can read her article and learn more about my Limited Edition Artist Book here.
