the moontree

 the changing of the seasons
often marks a kind of   beginning

one that, for me, involves a balance
of letting go and holding on

in the fall, the trees rich with color
 remind me to look forward

but as the leaves begin to fall
 to also let go

 exposed
 naked
 raw

the trees reach deep below to  their roots
 for strength to stand tall

and high above to the moon for the promise that
change, a new beginning and new growth
 is soon to come…

so i too reach for my own roots
 and my own moon

and invite you to do the same

finding strength in where we have been
standing tall in who we are now and
looking forward to where we are going
