366, Artist Book

Description

A visual and written retrospective on 2020, this Limited Edition Artist Book was created for my Solo Exhibition 366 winter, spring, summer, fall which opened in January 2021 at Var West Gallery  in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On January 1, 2020, I drew my 1st mandala, an intricate drawing inside a circle, and wrote my first journal entry of the year. On December 31, 2020, I drew my 366th mandala and wrote my last journal entry of the year. This 378-page Artist Book features all 366 mandala drawings and journal entries. This is my most personal work to date. It is about love and loss. Despair and hope. Simple joys and intimate moments. It is about witnessing and fighting hate. It is about community, family and friendship. It is about showing up. Every day.
